There is nothing that compares to spending an afternoon in a cozy independent bookstore, and the Okemo, Vermont area has two wonderful ones: Misty Valley Books and The Book Nook. Other favorite boutiques and specialty shops include the Hugging Bear Inn and Shop, which features over 12,000 kinds of teddy bears and collectibles; Rockledge Farm Woodworks, which offers one-of-a-kind handmade furniture; and the Green Mountain Sugar House, which sells real Vermont maple syrup and other goodies.
